What a great first day of grade 3! The students were anxious to meet their teacher (that's me!) and to be back at school with their friends again. Their classroom looks much different then from previous years. I have introduced flexible seating in Room 112. We will be discussing what this looks like (and sounds like) over the course of this week. Students now have different seating options throughout the day, and they decide which seat in our classroom will work best for their learning style. Students are not tied to sitting on a chair at a desk while they learn. We have yoga balls, milk crates, a standing desk (my favourite), mini rocking chairs, bean bag chairs and of course our learning carpets. Traditional seating options are  available and encouraged! Here are a few pictures of our classroom.
